The City of Santa Rosa and the City of Glendale, California, have forged a significant milestone in their international relations by officially formalizing their Sister City partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). This historic event took place at the City Hall of Glendale on March 20, 2024.

Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas, accompanied by Vice Mayor Arnold B. Arcillas, personally traveled to the City of Glendale to sign the agreement and accept the Resolution of the Glendale City Counil.. They were warmly received by Glendale City Mayor, Hon. Dan Brotman, and the entire City Council, signifying the mutual respect and enthusiasm for collaboration between the two cities.

The Sister City partnership between Santa Rosa and Glendale opens numerous opportunities for economic development, cultural enrichment, tourism promotion, technological innovation, and various other collaborative endeavors beneficial to both cities.

Hon. Elen Asatryan, a Member of Glendale’s City Council, highlighted the vibrant Filipino community residing in Glendale and the pivotal role played by organizations like the Filipino American Business Association of Glendale (FABAG-GLAC) in facilitating this partnership.

"Glendale is home to a vibrant Filipino community, and this partnership strengthens our bond further. Here's to fostering stronger ties and collaboration between our cities," Asatryan said in her Facebook post.

Santa Rosa proudly stands as Glendale's first and only sister city in the Philippines, chosen for its shared commitment to advancing modern technology initiatives.

The MOA serves as a blueprint for mutually beneficial educational, professional, economic, and cultural exchanges between the two communities, symbolizing not just a partnership but a bridge connecting them towards growth and development.
